brolin_empeyduncan^: I did not look up the “Gemini PDA” until now because I incorrectly assumed that PDA implies that it lacks cellular telephony capability, which would make it not useful to me because I want to carry only one computer with me.  Today (Wednesday) I finally looked it up and was pleasantly surprised.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gemini_(PDA) sounds and looks really cool especially because of the integrated hardware keyboard but, unfortunately, it03:12
brolin_empeyappears to lack a numeric keypad on the integrated hardware keyboard.  An overlaid numeric keypad suffices for me and does not require widening the keyboard.  Anyway, why is this computer described/marketed as a PDA instead of as a smartphone?  Calling it a PDA to me implies that it lacks cellular telephony capability but apparently it does have this capability but I do not know how well it works in Canada, specifically with the Fido cellular network.  On03:12
brolin_empeyWikipedia, I will add this article to the category named “Mobile phones with an integrated hardware keyboard”, to which I am subscribed as an RSS/Atom news feed.  The Gemini computer sounds far better than the Nokia N900/N950 although the Gemini is larger and heavier.  I still have not found an x86 smartphone with an integrated hardware keyboard, though.  I found barely any x86 smartphones with an LED (AMOLED) display instead of an LCD (AMLCD).03:12
brolin_empeyOh, I forgot to say that I have not seen any mention about the “removability” of the battery, which often indicates that the battery is difficult to remove. :-/03:20
brolin_empeyEh, the only camera is front-facing?03:28
brolin_empeyThe price for the version with cellular connectivity, which is the only version worth buying in my opinion, is 499 GBP, which XE says is currently 843 CAD, which is around the same price as a normal notebook computer that cannot fit in my pants pocket and is consequently irrelevant to me.  Sounds good so far.03:36
