DocScrutinizer05TimRiker: mhm. https://pastebin.com/Hk7UQPs820:57
TimRikeryep. the typo edit unintentionally removed the proxy authentication. I'm trying to add a reverseproxy config without authentication, as well as leave the authenticated proxy setup. Not figuring it out.20:59
DocScrutinizer05you try to config some proxy?21:02
DocScrutinizer05or did I get that wrong?21:03
DocScrutinizer05anyway, seems the bot passes proxy check now - it logged in21:04
DocScrutinizer05~+status21:07
infobotSince Sun Feb 17 18:56:57 2019, there have been 0 modifications, 0 questions, 0 dunnos, 0 morons and 2 commands.  I have been awake for 1h 10m 8s this session, and currently reference 119789 factoids.  I'm using about 80376 kB of memory. With 0 active forks. Process time user/system 4.49/0.14 child 0/021:07
DocScrutinizer05TimRiker: could I/we eventually nackup the factoid database? I seem to recall you saying that there were a few privacy-related infos in there, maybe we could filter thouse out first21:08
DocScrutinizer05backup even21:08
grumblehi o/21:10
TimRikerI'm not sure I even remember what's in there that's a privacy concern... I run a local backup from time to time, but I'm not doing regular off-site backups.21:10
TimRikerheya grumble, sup?21:10
grumbleDocScrutinizer05 recommended i join the channel :)21:10
grumblei assume everything's cleared up and the bots can connect just fine once again?21:11
TimRikerthe open proxy was my fault. trying to get both a reverseproxy and an authenticated proxy setup, and I commented out the wrong thing. Fixed it, but I still don't have my reverseproxy working like I want. I'll make sure to test for accidental open proxy. Glad freenode checks.... :)21:12
TimRikerFuchs opened it up again, and after I remembered to actually restart apache, everything is great. ;)21:12
DocScrutinizer05:.-)21:13
* DocScrutinizer05 restarts the ibot watchdog21:16
DocScrutinizer05TimRiker: how much free space you need for a offsite backup?21:20
DocScrutinizer05ideally du -h ibot/21:21
DocScrutinizer05(incl database, wherever that is)21:21
DocScrutinizer05so you could do a complete ibot backup offsite21:22
TimRikerthe bot is using 2.4G of space, including 1.7G of logs. and not including 4.6G of html logs21:23
DocScrutinizer05so a 10 or 20G should suffice?21:30
DocScrutinizer05I might create an account and homedir for you on one of my servers at Hetzner21:31
DocScrutinizer05chroot sftp21:32
DocScrutinizer05so when a meteorite takes out your server, you may restart from that backup ;-)21:34
DocScrutinizer05let me know if you're interested21:49
DocScrutinizer05in case you are, send me your ssh pubkey21:49
grumbleif you want disaster-proof backups, you should look at aws glacier where storing 2.4G will cost next to nothing23:00
grumbleon their website they claim an "average annual durability of 99.999999999%"23:00
DocScrutinizer05"next to nothing"?23:10
DocScrutinizer05HAH!  >>As part of the AWS Free Usage Tier, you can retrieve up to 10 GB of your Amazon S3 Glacier data per month for free. The free tier allowance can be used at any time during the month and applies to Standard retrievals.<<23:12
grumblethat's retrieval, not storage23:13
DocScrutinizer05wait, that's retrieval, not storage23:13
grumblestorage is: 0.004$ per GB and month. rounding that to 3GB, you get less than $0.15 per year23:13
grumbleif you take the 7 GB including the html logs, that23:14
grumble'll be less than $0.34 per year23:14
DocScrutinizer05yeah, incredibly cheap. Retrieval is 9ct/GB, though ^^^ 10GB/mo free it seems23:31
DocScrutinizer05nah, I don't get it. There's pricing fro retrievalm pricing for data transfer (retrieval), pricing for requests (ridiculously low at 2,75 to 5.5ct/1000)23:33
DocScrutinizer05anyway seems no matter what, you can't exceed a cup of coffee worth in fees per year, with a 10 GB23:40
DocScrutinizer05grumble: do you know offhand what's the interface/protocol to access that storage?23:41
DocScrutinizer05hmm, probably https://aws.amazon.com/getting-started/tutorials/backup-to-s3-cli/?trk=gs_card23:49
grumblei don't, no. but i know there are tons of libraries that do that for you23:50
